Who says money's everything for actors? Samuel L. Jackson in a somewhat humerous show of competitiveness, is pushing to get some type of cameo role in the newest installment of Indiana Jones, so he makes sure Harrison Ford doesn't pass him as the king of the worldwide box office.
Jackson passed Ford as the most successful Hollywood actor when he acted in a series of big hits, but with the potential of fourth Indiana Jones film, he fears Ford will regain the No. 1 position.
Jackson alleges George Lucas said he'd try to figure out a way to fit him into the movie, but so far it seems it's not going to happen.
Jackson asserts, "George said, `Well, if you wanna stay in front of Harrison then we've got to figure out a way to get you in Raiders (of The Lost Ark).'"
Now he feels Lucas is dodging him, as he continues to make phone calls that aren't returned.
You never know what Harrison Ford may be saying on the other side of the camera, as he may want to regain the title himself.
It just shows you money's not everything with the big stars. But I do find it pretty funny to see Jackson pressing Lucas for any role just so he can retain his crown, and then politicking in the media to put pressure on him.
I guess if he doesn't get a role, he'll have to hope another big, successful project comes his way to bring him back to his top spot.
