
Nielsen's national universe estimates show that TV households in the U.S. grew by 1.3 percent over last year, to reach 112.8 million by January 1, 2008. Persons aged 2 or over grew by 1 percent is now stands at 286.3 million.
With the new numbers, a household rating point will now represent 1.13 million households, while rating points for those aged 2 or over will represent 2.86 million.
The use of these figures will be put into effect August 27, and will be used throughout the entire 2007-2008 television season.
Not surprisingly the largest growth markets continue to be in the western and southern regions of the U.S.
