Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont has a role in the newest Batman movie, "The Dark Knight."
Leahy says the scene he will be in was filmed this summer, and wouldn't say anything about his role other than he is called the "distinguished gentleman." He jokingly added, "I don't wear tights." Leahy has been a fan of Batman for years.
This isn't Leahy's first foray into the Batman world, as he's had cameo roles in the last two Batman films, and had performed voice-overs for Batman cartoons and even written a preface for a Batman book.
Concerning the scene he plays in, Leahy said: "It's a pretty tense scene. It's going to be a very interesting one."
Playing Batman this time around will be Christian Bale, with Heath Ledger playing the role of the Joker, and Michael Caine will reprise his role of Alfred Pennyworth.
"The Dark Knight" will be released sometime in the summer of 2008.
