
Ralph Fiennes and Nicole Kidman have been picked by the Weinstein Co. to star in the "Reader," a love story based in Germany at the time of World War II. The film will be based on the bestselling novel by German writer Bernhard Schlink.
It's the story of a man telling a love story from the earlier part of his life with an older women.
Rights to the work were obtained by Sydney Pollack and Anthony Minghella who will also be producing the film through their Mirage Productions, along with Scott Rudin.
Scripting the project is David Hare and directing it will be Stephen Daldry.
Most of this team have labored together before, as Rudin, Kidman, Daldry and Hare worked on "The Hours," of which Kidman was awarded with an Oscar.
Fiennes has previously worked with Minghella in "The English Patient."
