Kanye West, already not in a good mood about losing in all five categories he was nominated for with the MTV Video Music Awards, lashed out at MTV saying it was their fault for Britney Spears' terrible performance.
West went into a tirade after he lost in every category he was nominated, and also felt he should have led of the show rather than Britney, saying, "They exploited her, they played me and I really don't mess with MTV."
He added that his "Stronger" would have been a better opening number than Spears' "Gimme More." He also complained about not being able to perform his song on the big stage.
As far as Britney goes, West also said MTV knew Spears wasn't ready to perform and only included her to get their ratings up.
While that may be true, Britney isn't a kid any more, and she and her people obviously made a bad decision as well. You can see from the performance that she was so far away from a quality performance that a decision to drop out should have been made.
Even though Britney is only 25, she's been in the business long enough to know what type of performance shape she was in. Those helping her with her routine were also either blind or just yes-people, as anyone with a half professional eye would have known she was going to make a fool out of herself.
It says to me that those surrounding Britney either have no concern about her at all, or aren't professional. It's probably a little of both. They'll get their cut of the pay regardless.

I agree with you on this one Gary. Although it was unfair for MTV to take advantage of Britney Spears the error was on the part of her internal team than MTV. At this point its kind of interesting and I wonder if they really think all press is good press because she sure did get a lot of attention; negative or not.
