Mindy McCready was sentenced to one year in jail today for violation of her probation. All of this related to a drunken game of Scrabble, where McCready and her mother ended up in some type of scuffle.
Her probation was a result of being convicted of using a fake prescription to buy painkillers.
McCready said at the sentencing: "Your honor, I can honestly tell you this: This has been the longest two months of my life ... not being able to hold my son ... has been excruciatingly painful. I could only say I'm sorry. Please give me a chance to make things as right as they can possibly be."
Along with her jail time, McCready will also have to serve two more years of probabtion and 200 hours of community service. The judge assured her if she didn't perform the service she would be put back in jail.
