Brazilian Supermodel Adriana Lima has become a role model and inspiration for women wanting to wait till marriage to have sex.
Lima said concerning her decision in a GQ interview: "They have to respect that this is my choice. If there's no respect, that means they don't want me.”
If you go to the interview, it's amazing to read. Once Lima quickly reveals who she really is, the interviewer is incredulous, and seems to loose connection with her. It's like the media focus on raunch was believed by the interviewer, who seemed to think that's how everybody really lives.
Others have taken up Lima's choice as well. Fox News quotes 20-year-old UCLA student Kate Jones: “Thanks to Adriana, all my friends and I are advocating chastity. We believe a lot of young girls have forgotten how to respect themselves, and it’s about time we went back to some old-fashioned values."
Young women are starting to voice their support of celibacy and promoting it across a large number of web sites. An growing number of people are embracing this as their choice in life, as they tire of the endless raunch and promotion of lifestyles really not as representative of the overall population as is asserted.
When you see Disney representative and High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens on the edge of throwing away her reputation and life, it's refreshing to see someone like Adriana hold on to her values.
Adriana models for Victoria's Secret and is a Maybelline representative.
