
At one time Rex Humbard was one of the most recognized people in the world, and U.S. News & World Report called him "one of the Top 25 Principle Architects of the American Century." He died Friday at the age of 88 of natural causes.
He was also known at one time as the pastor of Elvis Presley, who would at times gather around the TV with his backup singers to listen to the broadcast. He officiated at the funeral of Elvis Presley at the request of his dad Vernon Presley.
Humbard appeared on more TV stations in America in his prime, reaching over 360 stations, and over 2,000 stations across the world.
Humbard is survived by Maude Aimee, his wife of 65 years, sons Rex, Jr., Don and Charles and daughter Liz Darling; is brother Clement and and sisters Leona and Juanita; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
