
The Weinstein Company acquired the U.S. rights to the edgy, dark thriller "Walk All Over Me" from IndustryWorks Distribution.
At the Toronto International Film Festival the film received critical acclaim from the industry and viewers as well.
"We were very pleased at the overwhelming response WALK ALL OVER ME had in Cannes and Toronto," says Evan Tylor, president and founder of IndustryWorks. "With its obvious commercial appeal, we look forward to a great success in the closing the remaining territories at both MIPCOM and the upcoming American Film Market"
Centered on a small town girl named Alberta, it explores her taking on the identity of a dominitrix friend to pay her bills, which leads to a whole slew of problems from her actions.
The film stars Golden-Globe nominee LeeLee Sobieski ("Joan of Arc,") and Tricia Helfer ("Battlestar Galactica"), along with Lothaire Bluteau, Jacob Tierney, Michael Adamthwaite and Michael Eklund.
Executive producers are Colin Neale, Carolyn McMaster and Kyle Irving. Directing the project was Robert Cuffley.
The Weinstein Company will take the film direct to DVE through Genius Products, their exclusive home video distributor.
