Ellen DeGeneres adopted a dog last month named Iggy, a Brussels Griffon mix, which couldn't get along with her cats. In response, DeGeneres gave the dog away to her hairdresser, breaking the agreement she made with the agency.
The agreement stated if DeGeneres gave up the dog, she was to return it to the agency.
When the agency, called Mutts and Moms, found out she took the actions which violated the agreement, they went and took the dog back from the family.
Now Ellen used her show today to attempt to pressure the agency to give the dog back to the family she gave him to. Many people are now attacking the agency after Ellen's sobbing performance on her show.
The problem is this was brought by Ellen and no one else. People have to consider that these types of agencies must investigate a home to find out if it's good for a dog. To say some celebrity has that ability is nonsensical, to say the least. Ellen has no ability to make that decision based upon her interaction her hairdresser away from her home; she's not trained for that.
Now as some celebrities do, she wants special treatment from the agency, simply based upon she's a celebrity. That can't be good enough. This family would have to be checked out like any other family. Just because there were children that got bonded to the dog can't be the sole determining factor.
In the end, Ellen DeGeneres screwed up. Celebrities tend to think they are special and can do things regular people aren't allowed to. This is just another case of a celebrity thinking they're privileged over other people, and not subject to the rules.
I think it's dirty what Ellen did, using her show to make the agency look bad, while pressuring them to do her will. It's manipulative and ugly.

First I'll say that the author of this article is living proof that oppinions are like A$$holes, Everybody has one, and some really stink.
So does yours Gary B.
Elen admitted she was wrong not to have fully read the contract. She didn't "dump the dog" as you put it, she found it a good home. Face it, Mutts and Moms could have handled this better and saved alot of face. But instead they sent a clear message that their contract is more important than the welfare of the animal.
The fact that their website is no longer up and their phone is going unanswered speaks volumes to anyone who's ever owned a dog. I'm quite sure that Elen has done more for and donated more to the welfare of animals than you ever will.
