Doris Lessing winning the Nobel Prize for literature was a surprise to many, as she hadn't produced anything meaningful in some time.
Even she didn't care about it at all, and some critics said it was completed motivated by political correctness.
That brings me to the awards doled out in the entertainment industry, which are becoming so diluted with political motivated results, they are becoming almost meaningless.
Even the growing recognition that the "Incovenient Truth" by Al Gore is not only propaganda, but full of errors, doesn't stop it from being diluged with awards from anybody that offers them.
This is too bad to me, as the industry should make its process award great produtions and stories, rather than force the garbage down everybody's throats by allowing movies with agendas to continually win. I think that's the reason viewership continues to drop on these award shows, because they're no longer considered awards for excellence, but political advertisements.
Hopefully the industry will wake up and start to make the various awards they offer meaningful, rather than awarding those who are activists making movies that few people want to watch.
