Changing the words of an old polka: I don't want him, you can have him, he's too fat for me; it is evidently the mantra of "Lord of the Rings" and "King Kong" director Peter Jackson, as he had "creative differences" with Ryan Gosling, and Gosling won't be part of the project any longer.
Replacing the Canadian actor will be Mark Wahlberg.
It sounds like Gosling had told Jackson he was going to fatten himself up a bit to play the role of a grieving father, but when Gosling reported to the set, Jackson reportedly was "surprised Gosling had showed up to start work on the film looking like he'd donned a fat suit."
With the new changes, Walhlberg will join Rachel Weisz as the mother of the girl, and Susan Sarandon as the grandmother.
The story is based on a book by Alice Sebold, which tells the tale of a 14-year-old girl who is murdered, but watches how her murder changes her family from heaven.
