Singer and actor Robert Goulet died at the age of 73 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, while waiting for a lung transplant. Goulet had been diagnosed last month with a rare form of pulmonary fibrosis. He had been hospitalized since September 30, transferring to Cedars-Sinai from Las Vegas on Oct. 13.
Along with his singing career, Goulet had starred in Broadway performances like "Camelot" and "Happy Time"; and later on he was known for playing TV roles on "Fantasy Island," "The Jackie Gleason Show" and "Cannon."
After Goulet's performance in "Camelot" he won a Grammy for the best new artist for his initial two albums, "Two of Us" and "Always You," along with his hit single "What Kind of Fool Am I." Between 1962 and 1970, 17 of Goulet's albums made the charts, including "My Love Forgive Me," which went gold.
Goulet is survived by his wife of 25 years, Vera, and his sons Christopher and Michael, and daughter Nicolette, from a previous marriage.
