Tom Brady, the celebrity quarterback of the New England Patriots football team, has increasingly become part of the celebrity gossip culture as he continues his spree of dating beautiful women and dumping them just as quickly.
He even has his own scandal where he and then girlfriend, actress Bridget Moynahan became pregnant, and he dropped her soon after.
While no one really knows if all of this is being orchestrated by his people, it is the stuff that celebrities do to keep their names in the spotlight.
Brady is now dating supermodel Gisele Bundchen, another move usually reserved for the celebrity elite.
For better or worse concerning Brady, he is setting himself up for a celebrity and branding life after football. He seems to be looking for longevity in the public eye.
One problem Brady may have is while he has the good looks, he doesn't have a lot of charisma at this time. But if he wants to make a living modeling for high-end magazines, that won't matter. If he wants to end up some day in a sports booth doing coverage, he may have to work on that.
Brady has already guaranteed himself a place in football history, now it looks like he's trying to do the same with celebrity.
The contrast between him and Peyton Manning, as talked about here, is interesting in the way his post-football career and brand will probably go.
One thing for sure, Brady does know how to keep himself in the mind of the public. That will ensure he's not going to disappear into obscurity any time soon.
He has mentioned an interest in politics in the past, but he'll have to be more careful in his decisions, depending on what he has in mind there.
