It looks like Alex Rodriquez and the New York Yankees are showing each other some love again, as reports are they have reached a tentative agreement that will probably result in Rodriquez ending his career with the Yankees.
After some bad feelings between the two parties, which originated when the the announcement that Rodriquez was opting out of his contract on the last day of the World Series made it look like he was trying to upstage the event, which caused hard feelings with the Yankees and baseball in general.
Rodriquez subsequently contacted a friend at Goldman Sachs (GS) to bring some peace between the Yankees and Rodriquez, so they could negotiate in earnest, once it was found out that no team was going to pay him the $30 million a year his agent thought they could get.
So the deal that has been reportedly made is for $275 million, over a 10-year period, which would break the old U.S. sports record Rodriquez set of $252 million over that same time period. There are also added incentives if he breaks the all-time home run record, which he will surely do if he remains healthy.
