It's outrageous I tell you, Jerry Seinfeld has been accused by the Beeceuticals cosmetic company of stealing their slogan "Gives Bees A Chance" so he could use it to get the "Bee Movie" noticed. Talk about that underhanded lout. How could he do such a thing?
Beeceuticals LLC is a company that sells products made with organic honey. Attorney for the company, Elliot M. Zimmerman alleges "They damaged us and cost us some people who would have bought from us. It's not right what they did."
The company is actually connected to Howard Stern, the talk-show guy, whose cousin Richard Gerber, is the director of the business. Beeceuticals has been advertising on the Howard Stern since March of 2007.
So let me get this. A company that advertises its products on the Howard Stern raunch show have been hurt from a slogan used in the "Bee Movie"? They really expect someone to take them seriously about this!
They even say their "experts" are now figuring out how much financial damage has been done through this nefarious deed.
Anyway, Beeceuticals applied for trademark protection for the slogan in October 2006, says the lawsuit. Also included in the lawsuit is Paramount Pictures (VIA-B).
