The PBS special tonight featuring Eric Clapton's Crossroad's Guitar Festival was fantastic.
While everything was tremendous, it was my first chance to see Tal Wilkenfeld, the young immigrant from Australia who plays a mean bass guitar. I include the performance below from the Festival, where she played along with Jeff Beck. There's also another video where she for the most part plays bass with a drummer.
Others also participating in the production, featuring some of the blues' greats, were B.B. King, who is now 82, Herbert Sumlin, 76, and Buddy Guy, who's just a kid at 71.
Former Blind Faith members Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood were up front and center for the special, and didn't disappoint with their renditions of "Had to Cry Today," "Presence of the Lord."
Also part of the Festival were Los Lobos, Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow and Vince Gill.
