The continuing story of the highly popular Disney franchise "High School Musical," will probably start shooting in the spring, says director and choreographer Kenny Ortega. This will be the third installment of the series.
While Ortega obviously won't reveal the story line, he did give a hint talking to the Daily News saying, "I can say, we're sort of returning to East High in the last year of the Wildcats [basketball team]."
The film will be shot in Salt Lake City, and everything is in place, including the cast and the script. The music is being worked on now, and preproduction is set for January 2008, said Ortega.
Now if Disney (DIS) can get that silly chit Vanessa Hudgens to keep her clothes on and her nude and stupid photos off the Internet, Disney can keep the wholesome brand of High School Musical going strong.
For fans of the show, the DVD of "High School Musical 2" will be released on December 11, just in time for Christmas.
"High School Musical 3" is scheduled for release in the theaters sometime in the fall of 2008.
