When Don Imus made his politically incorrect statements that resulted in his being fired from his long time stint at CBS (CBS-A), the people he had helped out a lot abandoned him at one of the most important times of his life. Now some are starting to wonder if he's going to take some revenge on those that did it.
Some names being thrown around that ran for cover are CBS head Les Moonves who fired him, Al Roker, Tim Russert and Harold Ford Jr.
Talking to Page Six, Phil Boyce, the general manager of WABC radio, said "I think he will have some scores to settle."
Joining Imus on the show at the 8:00 a.m. time will be private investigator Bo Dietl, who also said concerning those who forsook him so quickly: "They turned their backs on him so fast. Al Roker had his stomach stapled - he should have had his mouth stapled."
Dietl added that Imus will probably start off as "a kinder, gentler Imus," but who knows how long that will last? While Imus will obviously have to be careful, WABC hired him to stir up the pot some. He wouldn't be Imus if he didn't.
Don Imus starts his new job with WABC radio at 6:15 a.m. on Monday for the first spot.
