Indiana Jones struck back even before the fourth installment of the franchise was released, as a man who was trying to sell stolen property of secrets in the film, pleaded guilty yesterday after being arrested from a sting operation.
Roderick Davis was arrested on October 4 in West Hollywood when police made him believe they were interested in buying the stolen goods. When Davis arrived, they took him into custody.
Davis had attempted to contact a number of entertainment gossip sites to sell the goods. When police learned of the deal, they set up the sting operation, posing as buyers. Davis will serve two years and for months for receiving stolen property and commercial burglary. If he hadn't pleaded, he would have probably received a four-year sentence.
The stolen material would have given away some of the secrets of the film if they had gotten out into the pubic hands.
"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" is due to be released in May by Paramount (VIA-B).
