This last weekend "Ratatouille" passed the $600 million mark to become Disney/Pixar's second largest movie release of all time globally.
Domestically the film has taken in $206.1 million to date, while internationally it has reached $396.5 million in sales. For this year, it is the fifth most popular film release and the top grossing non-sequel.
Speaking of non-sequels, "Ratatouille" is the third animated film in history to reach the $400 million mark internationally.
The animated film is also the ninth to reach the $600 million plateau for Disney (DIS), making them the only company in history to achieve that milestone.
Mark Zoradi, president, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Group, said concerning the international success of the film, "Not only is 'Ratatouille' the best reviewed movie released this year, it now has the distinction of being one of Disney's all-time biggest global releases.
"The success of 'Ratatouille' in the international marketplace is nothing short of phenomenal and we're thrilled that the film has claimed the #1 spot for the year in some of the top markets."
For animated films, "Ratatouille" was No. 1 in 17 international markets, and unsurprisingly, in France it was the No. 1 film in any category.
