Shrek will be one of three new balloon entrants in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, as he's ready to float in the annual festivities.
Along with Shrek, the two other newcomers will be the feline superhero Hello Kitty Supercute, and also the fairy trainee Abby Cadabby from "Sesame Street."
Another highlight of the parade will be the Virginia Tech marching band which will offer a tribute to the shooting victims at the school.
There will be somewhere around 10,000 participants marching in this years' parade, with around half of them being Macy's employees.
Along with the 2,000 cheerleaders, there'll be a healthy representation of clowns, numbering about 800. There will of course be the usual bevy of marching bands ... including 11 overall.
Coverage of the parade will be on NBC (GE), starting at 9 p.m. est, and ending at noon across all time zones.
