Saying that she feels an obligation to the millions of fans of "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin, his widow Terri Irwin, says she has writien a book which talks about their lives together. Irwin was killed in a freak attack by a stingray, which embedded its tail into his heart, killing him almost instantly. He died on September 4, 2006.
Talking to The Associated Press, Terri Irwin said "I felt kind of compelled to do something so that people could sit down and understand Steve better and where he came from and what we stood for and what we tried to achieve. I'd been so kind of self-absorbed with my own sadness that I hadn't really thought about everybody else ... so I thought maybe a book would help people to come to know the human side of Steve."
Her book, which will be titled "Steve and Me: Life With the Crocodile Hunter," in the U.S., and "My Steve" in Australia, started to be worked on about four months after he died. It is available to purchase now.
Irwin says the experience of writing about their lives has been extremely painful.
Her daughter Bindi has taken on the celebrity role of her father, starring in her own documentary "Bindi the Jungle Girl." She even has her own fitness DVD called "Bindi Kidfitness" and clothing label, "Bindi Wear.
