Tim Burton has signed on with the Walt Disney Co. (DIS) to do two 3-D films for them. Burton will reprise "Alice in Wonderland," and also his own "Frankenweenie," which he'll develop into a full-length feature film.
Burton has developed films like "Nightmare Before Christmas," "Edward Scissorhands" and the remake of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," which starred Johnny Depp.
His latest creation, "Sweeney Todd," is due to be released soon. Depp also stars in that project as well.
"Alice in Wonderland" will be scripted by Linda Woolverton, who also wrote for "The Lion King" and "Beauty and the Beast." The film will include performance-capture and live-action, something he is known for. If you've seen the movie "Beowulf," or its trailers, that will give you an idea of how it looks.

For "Frankenweenie," Burton will write that himself, which will also be presented in stop-motion animation.
Burton recently received the Goldon Lion award at the Venice film festival for career achievement. He's the youngest person to ever receive the award.
