
Fox (NWS-A) has announced the schedule for the for the first few months of the upcoming season of "American Idol," with the season premiere airing over a two-night period on January 15 and 16, which includes four hours of coverage. Just what the network needs for the entertainment-hungry public.
The two-night opener will include clips from auditions around the country, and from there be shown on every Tuesday and Wednesday night through February 6.
After that, the Hollywood round will air on February 12 and 13, with the top 24 finalists revealed on the February 13 show.
The first show featuring the performance of the contestants will air on February 19, which will showcase the 12 male finalists. On February 20 the ladies will be take the stage with their first performances of the 2008 season.
Following those performances, the season's first vote will be tabulated and revealed, and the top 12 finalists will perform for the first time on March 11.
