Celine Dion ends her highly successful 5-year performance of "A New Day" at Ceasars Palace on Saturday, December 15.
Since the show premiered in March 2003, it has grossed over an astounding $400 million over 717 performances by the entertainment star. During that time, almost 3 million fans came to see her perform.
Dion said concerning the ending of her show:
“This has been one of the most incredible journeys of my career! Working with Franco Dragone...working with an amazing cast of artists every night...knowing that we've had the best team around us, the best partners to work with...and in this most beautiful theater...it's all been a dream come true! I'm going to miss being with this ‘family’ of extraordinary people who have become a big part of my life during the past five years. I'm grateful to each of them for giving so much of themselves to make our show a success. Most of all, I'm overwhelmed by the support that we've received from all the fans who have traveled to Las Vegas from all across North America, and from every corner of the world...I can't thank them enough!”
If you want a chance to see the final show, it will be shown in over 200 movie theaters across the U.S. on Monday, December 17, at 7:30 local time. You can get tickets for the event through participating theaters, or can be ordered through FathomEvents.com. They go on sale December 16.
For Celine, she's not taking much time off, as she's about ready to start her "Taking Chances" world tour, starting in South Africa in February. You can find out more info about that at her Celine Dion website.
