Pat Robertson made an announcement on "The 700 Club" that his son Gordon was taking over leadership of the Christian Broadcasting Network, or CBN.
Gordon said he was surprised by the whole affair, "It was a big surprise. I got called by dad following Friday's show in the dressing room, and he says, 'Can you get up here and tell the board what you plan on doing with CBN in the future?'"
Evidently the board liked what they heard and voted him in unanimously.
Pat Robertson will remain chairman while Gordon takes over the CEO duties. Pat will also continue his role as president of Regent University, while also continue to appear on "The 700 Club."
Gordon, who graduated from Yale and Washington & Lee Law School, plans on using the TV and Internet to expand CBN internationally.
