A book by publisher Penguin "The Truth About Chuck Norris: 400 facts about the World's Greatest Human," released in November, is under fire from Chuck Norris, as he's sued the publisher, author Ian Spector and two websites Spector runs to market the book.
What the book does is take myths that had been migrating around the Internet and aggregates them in order to mock Norris' image.
According to the suit, "Some of the 'facts' in the book are racist, lewd or portray Mr. Norris as engaged in illegal activities.
"Defendants have misappropriated and exploited Mr. Norris's name and likeness without authorization for their own commercial profit."
Norris says in the suit that he is protective of what his name is associated with. Norris has a point there, as he promotes a number of products and now endorses Mike Huckabee as a presidential candidate. If the quotes in the book are perceived as fact by those reading it, it could cause a backlash and cost him serious personal, professional and financial harm.
The preface of the book, which thanks Norris for "playing along," but Norris contends he talked directly to Penquin and told them they weren't authorized to publish the book, but they rejected his claims.
Monetary damages are being sought, but weren't specified in the suit. The lawsuit also asks that books already sold be recalled and publication stopped.

I like Chuck Norris. He is a serious and interesting actor. I never fail to watch his movies or TV shows, most of which deal with him chasing down the bad guys and goons and cracking their head and bones.
However, it appears he is lacking in sense of humor. There should be no need for him to sue anyone because of the book. Hey Chuck, sometimes, it can help you if you laugh a little bit. Lighten up pal and try to be amused sometimes.
Life should not be always about fighting and suing!
