It's not known at this time whether the incidents are related, but in two different locations in Colorado, Christian organizations were opened fire on and people were killed.
The first shooting occurred at a Youth With a Mission station, in Arvada, a suburb of Denver. Two people were killed when an unidentified gunman opened fire when he was told he couldn't spend the night there. Killed were the director of hospitality, Tiffany Johnson, 26, from Minnesota, and also Philip Crouse, 23, from Alaska.
Two other people were injured in the shooting, Dan Griebenow, 24, from North Dakota, and Charlie Branch, 22, whose hometown isn't known as of now. One of the injured is in critical condition, while the other is in stable condition.
Evidently the gunman talked for several minutes with some people before calling Tiffany Johnson to the scene. At that point the person started opening fire when refused admittance. The shooter is described as a 20-year-old white male, who was wearing a dark jacket and a skull cap. He fled on foot after the shooting.
The second shooting was at New Life Church in Colorado Springs. There a man in a black trench coat and a high-powered rifle came into the entry area of the building and starting opening fire on the people still there after a recently ended service.
Oddly, the shooting in Arvada may have saved lives at New Life Church, as they increased security after hearing word of the shootings there.
One person from the church died from wounds the gunman inflicted, while two others were shot and wounded. There are a number of conflicting reports, and there might be more injuries in this case. It sound like there may be another injury, as the hospital where victims were taken said were listed in critical, fair and good condition, according to hospital spokeswoman Amy Sufak.
It has also been reported that the police has a suspect in custody in this case, although other reports have said an armed, church security guard shot and killed him.
