
Alex Trebek, who has been a fixture on television for years throught he popular "Jeopardy!" show, has suffered a mild heart attack.
Publicist for the show Jeff Ritter said about Trebek and how it will affect Jeopardy!, "He is resting comfortably in a Los Angeles hospital, and he will be back in the studio for the next scheduled tapings in January."
Trebek has been the Jeopardy! host for 23 years, starting in 1984.
Jeopardy! has one of the longest runs of all TV games show in the U.S., and is always one of the top game shows in ratings. About 39 million viewers tune in to watch the show weekly, and it can be seen in 99 percent of the U.S.
Trebek, 67, will remain at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for a couple days for continued test and observation, said Ritter.
