The parade of late night talk show hosts continue to return to television, as new episodes of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" will start airing in January.
We talked about this a couple days ago when Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien decided to come back to NBC (GE), that it would spur a flood of other hosts to come back also.
This is the only area where the writers' strike has had an impact, and with everyone starting to return, we'll start to see viewership arise again; with or without the writers.
Kimmel cited concerns for the non-writers working with him as a major motivator for getting back to work, as they haven't been working since he's been off the air. In a statement, Kimmel said, " ... there are more than a hundred people whose financial well-being depends on our show. It is time to go back to work."
The new shows of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" will start airing again on January 2, said ABC (DIS).
