The list of Grammy Awards nominees was released today, and Kanye West headed the list, being nominated for eight awards. West, who doesn't like to lose when nominated, and let's people know about it, had a great professional year, selling almost a million copies of "Graduation," but personally he suffered a tragedy, as his mother died after complications from plastic surgery.
Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse was surprisingly awarded with six nominations, after cancelling concert date after concert date throughout the year. Maybe that should be a category; she would have won that one hands down.
Former "American Idol" winners continue to be represented in the Grammy's, as Fantasia and Chris Daughtry received multiple nominations. Daughtry was nominated in four categories, while Fantasia was nominated in two.
Others from "Idol" that have won multiple Grammy's are Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson.
