It looks like Mel Gibson wants to be the jefe of his own film production company in Costa Rica, as has been in talks with a number of government officials for that purpose.
He met with ministers of commerce, tourism and economy at a luxury hotel in San Jose, the Costa Rican capital.
Gibson said concerning his visit: "I'm here exploring opportunities to establish my film business in Costa Rica." He's looking for facilities available to launch the film production company.
He also said a reason for exploring the specific area was "it's a beautiful country, very stable. I like its people a lot and they have very good coffee."
Gibson already owns a home and land in Costa Rica, purchasing a $25.8 million ranch, which includes 402 acres (163 hectares).
