In a trip to Australia to promote the Sydney premiere of "The Golden Compass," Nicole Kidman announced she'd be stepping out of Hollywood next year, so she can tour with husband and country singer Keith Urban.
Kidman contemplated the decision as well as her changing priorities.
"I always wish for health for me and my family. As you get older you realise how important that is," said Kidman.
"You have a sort of gypsy life when you're married to a musician. I will be traipsing around on a tour bus for most of 2008."
About 1,000 fans got to see and hear Kidman at the entrance of Sydney's State Theatre before she and her entourage entered.
Unfortunately for her latest project, it isn't performing near the expectations for highly marketed and controversial movie.

She's starting a new movie in January for roughly 6 weeks in Germany. IF they get the word, they'll be filming the sequels to Golden Compass in London in September. So she'll be there for most of the fall. She's not taking that much time off to spend time with Hubby. Add to that the fact that there is a writers strike going on at the moment AND the actors guild may also possibly strike in July. This VERY brief time off seems tied very well to the fact that a lot of Hollywierd folks are taking time off because they have no choice. And take a look at Urban's tour schedule for 2008. It's VERY light.
