Dan Fogelberg, who thrived in the soft-rock era of the 1970s, died early Sunday morning from a three-year battle with prostrate cancer. Fogelberg was 56.
On his website, a message from Anna Loynes of the Solters & Digney public relations agency, had this to say about his death:
"Dan left us this morning at 6:00am . He fought a brave battle with cancer and died peacefully at home in Maine with his wife Jean at his side. His strength, dignity and grace in the face of the daunting challenges of this disease were an inspiration to all who knew him."
His album "The Innocent Age," was his major work, which included three singles which reached the top ten, "Hard to Say," "Same Old Lang Syne" and "Leader of the Band."
Fogelberg was well known for his tremendous vocals and lyrics. His last album "Full Circle," was released in 2003, when not too long afterward he was diagnosed with cancer.
