The Comedy Central network announced Thursday that "The Colbert Report" and "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" will begin production again on January 7, without any of the striking writers.
Since Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien announced they're returning to production, it triggered a stampede of talk-show hosts returning to the air with new shows.
This will be more of a test for the two, as they depend more on scripted shows than their competitors, so we may see them take a different route than usual when returning.
Comedy Central said through their spokesman that there would be no further comment from the network, Colbert or Stewart.
Leno and O'Brien are scheduled to return with new shows on January 2.
