The latest film project from Will Smith, "I Am Legend," won't be seen in China anytime soon, as they keep with their existing policy of only allowing a certain number of foreign film releases in the country.
Smith, who has been working on getting the work released in China said, "We struggled very, very hard to try to get it to work out, but there are only a certain amount of foreign films that are allowed in."
Other news from China is it may have also implemented a three-month ban on any film made in America.
The purpose in all this is to protect the Chinese film industry, and give it a chance to take hold domestically.
During potentially busy audience times in China, they have issued bans in the past which coincide with busy holidays and school breaks.
Smith has stopped trying though, as he's currently working with Han Sanping, of the China Film Group to get a deal made.
It will be released in the U.S. on December 14.
