Workers for NBC's "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" are the latest casualities of the Writers Guild of America union, as their strike continues to hurt regular people working in the industry.
Even though they work less and get paid far more than the average American worker, they continue to try to get even more, as they think they should get a percentage of the digital revenue just starting to be a little bit of a factor in the overall scheme of professional entertainment.
The clueless Richard Huff, writing for the New York Daily News, talks down about Jay Leno not paying workers, saying "Leno hasn't stepped up to pay the staff of his late-night show who were laid off yesterday by NBC."
This is one of the most ignorant statements I've heard. Let the Writers Guild of America who are putting people out of work because of greed - step up. Let them pay the wages of laid off workers they don't care about. They're the ones that have caused the pain for them all.
The Guild is also causing Leno to lose $520,000 a week since the strike started. Evidently that's not enough for Huff. As a matter of fact, let do-gooder Huff pay some out for the laid off workers if he's so concerned about them. It's none of his or anybody else's business what Jay Leno does with his money.
But to blame him for the actions caused by the self-centered Writers Guild of America is stupid at the very least, and manipulative to those ignorant enough to listen to that liberal rhetoric.
