ABC and Fox Narrow Debate Field - Ron Paul Backers Furious

With the decision to exclude some of the presidential candidates in upcoming debates over the coming weekend, it has Ron Paul supporters up in arms, especially with Fox News (NWS-A).

The reason given by Fox News for its exclusion of Paul and also Duncan Hunter from California, is the size of their studio, which is basically a bus full of equipment, won't be able to allow all candidates to fit within it.

On  ABC's (DIS) part, their news anchor Charles Gibson said that after explaining the rules of inclusion for their debate, nobody's campaign challenged them.

I think it's too bad on the part of both networks to choose this time to narrow the field in relationship to debates. With no one voting as of yet, it could definitely make a difference in the outcome of some of the voting ahead of us.

While Paul supporters believe he has a chance to win, there is definitely the chance that he could alter the outcome if he is given a voice. That voice should be allowed to be heard. The same with any other candidate on both sides of the fence. To me it's too early to make this call.

It would seem that including all candidates at this time would be more fair to all concerned. There are definitely some possibilities in the wind that could change things in the election. To leave that out of the equation isn't responsible in my opinion, and also takes some of the issues off the table. Americans deserve to hear some viewpoints that they don't hear that often any more. Networks shouldn't be the ones deciding what opinions are allowed to be aired.

What I don't understand is the focus by Paul supporters on Fox News, they should be upset about ABC just as much.

Interestingly, Paul has been invited to a forum sponsored by Fox News on January 10 in South Carolina.

This will be very unfair to Ron Paul. I urge the TV station to expand their studio in order to accommodate him. The voice and agendas of all the candidates must be heard by the voters in order for them to be well informed and be able to determine the best candidate to vote for.
