A report from the Daily News says Britney Spears has been locked in the psych ward of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and was characterized as a "special needs" patient, which means she will be held in the ward for 72 hours "for her own welfare."
Her meltdown continues, as she was sent to the hospital strapped to a gurney after refusing to return her sons to their father, Kevin Federline, for a court-approved visit. She locked herself and son Jayden James, who is 1, in the bathroom and refused to come out for about three hours.

"There was a time where she was within the residence and wasn't available to be speaking to the officers, apparently," Officer Ana Aguirre of the LAPD said. "There was no threat to the children."
After the episode Spears lost all visitation rights to their two sons and Kevin receiving full custody.
I can see Britney's mom Lynne Spears seeing her book on raising her children being put on permanent hold. I don't think too many people want to know what she did to produce her brood.

One of her other children Jamie Lynn Spears, announced she was pregnant recently. She is only 16-years-old, but at least she's taking responsibility for her actions by having the baby. Britney doesn't seem able to take charge of her life or responsiblity for her actions; maybe the key reason behind her overall problems.
As far as Britney and her actions at her home with the incident, people there said she basically snapped and was "going between laughing and hysterics."
Members of the Federline family took the high road, as Spears' former husband Kevin visited the hospital, and his sister-in-law, Alisha Federline, said "I'm just hopeful that everyone is okay." Considering how they could have hammered Spears for their own benefit, it was good behavior on their part.
