In a unanimous vote, the board of directors of the Directors Guild of America voted on Sunday to recommend the collective bargaining agreement hammered out on January 17, be ratified by the Guild's members.
DGA president Michael Apted said after the vote, "We achieved our three primary goals: jurisdiction in new media, which was absolutely essential; compensation for the use and reuse of our work in new media; and significant gains on issues of real importance for our work in traditional media."
The deal, which has been overwhelmingly applauded by the major studios as well, will now be presented to the 13,500 members of the DGA for a ratification vote.
