Pressure's on Writers Guild to deal!
After only five days of formal talks, the Directors Guild of America reached a three-year deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. Details of the agreement have yet to be unveiled.
In a statement, the AMPTP said that it "establishes an important precedent. Our industry's creative talent will now participate financially in every emerging area of new media. The agreement demonstrates beyond any doubt that our industry's producers are willing and able to work with the creators of entertainment content to establish fair and flexible rules for this fast-changing marketplace."
The agreement hasn't been ratified by the members of the Directors Guild, but will be presented to them soon.
The statement released by the producers was signed by all the CEOs of the major studios.
Now the Writers Guild needs to start dealing in good faith, and start toning down their ridiculous demands, which have went beyond the media reported Internet residuals.
