There are a number of websites out there created to help people make decisions on what entertainment is appropriate for families, and a new one was recently developed, bringing it all under one roof, so you don't have to go all over to find the right information.
The site - Family Entertainment Central - includes reviews of television shows, films, DVDs and games.
In going through the site, I found it very clear and precise on what to expect from any particular form of entertainment you're looking at interacting with, whether with your children or grandchildren.
One thing I did like is they weren't afraid to get right down to exactly what is was in a film that may be objective to prospective media consumers. In other words they weren't afraid to offer the whole panorama of potentially harmful material, knowing people have different things they consider offensive. At least with this particular site you won't be uniformed about what you will be consuming with your youngsters, as they get into about every detail of what is offered by the particular form of media.
The site also offers editorial commentary, along with entertainment news to keep you up on and aware of what's happening in the industry that could have a potential harmful effect on your family. These portions of the site also offer things that can be done to make the culture much better.
Overall I think this is a great site to offer guidance to people looking for input before they allow their children to view or interact with entertainment. It's also very practical in covering the major field the entertainment industry embraces.
I recommend taking a look at it and looking at the various input and insight it has to offer. Many people will appreciate it.
