The former Little Rascal known as Stinky, Ernie Weckbaugh, has released a book called "The Spirit of David," which tells 28 different short stories which encourage the disabled and disadvantaged.
If you've seen the Little Rascal pictures, you'd identify "Stinky" as the one that usually rode along on a tricycle following the gang around.
Weckbaugh wrote and compiled "The Spirit of David," and it is was inspired by a late friend of his, David Schumacker, who was an author, appraiser, real estate guru and businessman.
Schumacker was born almost blind from birth, and by middle age was completely blind. Weckbaugh observed the extraordinary success of Schumacker with his difficult challenges, and it inspired Weckbaugh to write and put together the stories in the book.
“This book is written for an underserved market—people with disadvantages seeking inspiration,” said Weckbaugh. “I was impressed by the perseverance shown in the stories in the book and resolved to inspire readers through the stories.”Proceeds from book sales will go to a variety of charities.
