
History Channel's Monday night special called "Life After People" broke the all time record for viewership for the the channel in its history.
"Life After People," which garnered a total of 5.4 million viewers, along with a 3.9 household rating, dealt with what the possible results would be if humans disappeared from planet earth.
“This is a great example of how we are dimensionalizing history to make it more active, immersive and personal,” said Nancy Dubuc, executive VP and general manager of the History Channel. "After coming off our most successful year ever in 2007, this is a great way to start off the new year."
The show was based on "clues" history has supposedly left, and the story was generated from there.
Interesting that so many wanted to see the world without people, although most of it was watching landmarks deteriorate and fall as a result of people not being there to take care of them.
It was the top-rated cable show of the night.
