The fears that former top model Katoucha had fallen into the Seine River in early February have been realized, as her body was found Thursday by French police.
Sadly, it followed a bout of heavy drinking, which obviously contributed to her death. So far there's no suggestion of foul play, and it's being considered an accident.
Katoucha was among the first African women to gain international recognition as a model and was a strong enemy of female circumcision. She wrote a book called "Katoucha, In My Flesh," which detailed her own painful experience of forced circumcision at the age of 9.
She disappeared on February 1st after being brought to her houseboat after a party. Police said they think she had been heavily drinking before she disappeared. Her handbad was found near the houseboat, which originally generated ideas of possible foul play.
The body of the mother-of-three was sighted by beneath a bridge by someone passing by, and was still clothed in a designer dress.
