Final Volume in Young Indiana Jones coming in April
A little over three weeks before the release of "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," George Lucas is releasing a new DVD collection of "The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones," on April 29.
"The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones: The Years of Change" DVD, will include 30 documentaries, talking about the history of where the young Indy got his inspiration and insight.
“This is a different side to Indiana Jones and shows the academic roots behind his affinity for adventure,” said Lucas. “The hero we know as ‘Indiana’ is first and foremost Dr. Jones, a man whose love for history and thirst for knowledge started when he was young, proving that learning about the world can lead to incredible things.”
Lucas says this will be the final volume, in the three-volume set, which will then contain 94 documentaries, along with 22 feature-length movies. Interactive games and a interactive timeline will also be included with the full set.
This final set will have 10 dvd discs crammed full of entertainment, with seven full episodes, along with the 30 documentaries mentioned above.
The highly regarded documentaries were produced over a four-year period by former CBS News producer David Schneider. “It has been an honor to help realize George’s vision for the Young Indy DVDs as an in-depth exploration of history with real-life facts that spark viewers’ curiosity and inspire them to learn even more,” Schneider said. “This set offers more of everything that Indiana Jones fans love: more action, more excitement and more historical information to truly bring the past to life.”
Releasing the set is Lucasfilm Ltd., Parmount Home Entertainment and CBS Home Entertainment.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will be released May 22.
