Jesse L. Martin who has played the role of Detective Ed Green in "Law & Order" will be leaving the show after nine years.
When Martin said he had signed on for 13 episodes this year, conjecture was he was going to be leaving, which is now confirmed, although he did have an option to do more shows if he had wanted to go that route.
Word is he'll be filming one more episode of the show, then he'll then be written out of the drama.
Replacing Martin will be Anthony Anderson, who had a role in the Law & Order: SVU in the past. Anderson will be a new character who partners with Cyrus Lupo, played by Jeremy Sisto.
