I got my first look at the Deception trailer, which stars Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor, Michelle Williams and Maggie Q.

The premise of the film is an introduction of the character, Jonathan, played by Ewan McGregor, into some type of secretive sex club called "The List," by his lawyer colleague friend Wyatt, played by Hugh Jackman.

As the story unfolds, Jonathan ends up being a suspect in the disappearance of one of the women he had an encounter with, as well as a suspect in a robbery which millions were taken.

As the trailer goes along, it looks like the show has a lot of promise, but my first reaction is hopefully all the good stuff isn't mashed together, and the rest of the show ends up being a disappointment.

What makes me cautious is the sex club angle, which when being part of movies in the past, have been extremely disappointing in quality and only cater to the young male who's glad to see any type of steamy sex scene in a film.

If they pursue what appears to be setup and a set of circumstances that look like was set up by someone playing a complicated game, it could end up being an entertaining movie.

With the quality of actors involved, hopefully it's not wasted on a boring set of trysts that end up going nowhere but getting someone caught. From what I've been able to find out, it looks like it may not go that way, which will be a nice surprise.

It's been a while since I've seen a good mystery built around a psychotic, but brilliant evil mind that keeps you guessing until the end; which this looks like it is.
I hope that "Deception" doesn't end up being deceiving.
