The Disney Channel (NYSE: DIS) has given the go ahead on a new reality series which will feature the Jonas Brothers.
They recently came off touring with the "Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds" concert tour, which gave them even more exposure, and increased their growing popularity among tween girls.
What the series will focus on is the lives of the trio as they do all the things connected to touring, like clips of their performances, bus travel and rehearsals. It'll also give a personal look at them as they interact with their family and other sibling, while doing the activities kids do. Well, maybe skydiving isn't one of the things most kids do, but the go-cart racing and other things are.
The show, which is dubbed "Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream," will be aired in short segments sometime this spring.
They are currently on their own tour called "Look Me in the Eyes."
Now that they are getting hot, and a potential new, lucrative franchise is being groomed by Disney, there are other projects being considered, such as a scripted series named "J.O.N.A.S," which as of now hasn't had a production date set. There is also a TV movie in the works, "Camp Rock," scheduled for a June release.
It'll be interesting to see if the "Brothers" can keep their popularity with the tween girl demographic going as they start to get a little older. Kevin is 20; Joe, 18; and Nick, 15.
